This is the kind of stuff our creative director consumes on YouTube to get inspiration for sleek’s next issue themed “Minimum/Maximum”… he doesn’t know we are posting this though, he is so busy looking for inspiration he has no time to read sleek’s blog…
Pop-Art in a Bottle
Art/Brand collaborations continue to pop up, the latest being between Andy Warhol and Dom Perignon. The 3 exclusive bottles, created in homage of Warhol’s famous screen prints, were designed by the Central Saint Martins Design Laboratory. Pop art and the high-end beverage intertwine within the bubbling 2002 Vintage, leaving the senses tingling and mingling, just as Warhol would most likely have intended. Pop your own pop-art bottle for around €145.
The Book of Love

At a reading from Dinda’s book „Bilderreimbuch über Liebe“ on August 26th, the audience felt personally addressed, got lost in their own reminiscing and occasionally released a little smile of acknowledgment and recognition at the stories of love found and love lost. We Swapped!
From pop up shops to outdoor markets with karaoke, it seems like in Berlin, shopping for clothes is no longer an ordinary event. The Skyy Swap market, which took place on Aug. 27, has taken that idea even further with its concept of swapping clothes – in good condition of course – for tokens. These tokens are then taken to the Swap Party and exchanged for items of clothing by designers.
The event itself was a full-scale soiree, with large dance floor/mingling area surrounded by a mezzanine of clothing racks being rifled through all around. Not just a place to pick up a nice piece of clothing, but an event with a good cause in mind – proceeds go to the Berliner Aids-Hilfe Foundation, just another good reason to swap!

Alex Prager is a WeActivist
WeActivists are people that are good at what they do, either world famous or totally obscure, who function as ambassadors for WeSC. For their summer collection, WeSC have asked three of these talents to each contribute an artwork for a T-shirt: the graffiti legend Stash, artist Mercedes Helnwein and photographer Alex Prager. With exhibitions in New York, LA, London and more, Prager is listed as one of the hottest things to watch for 2010. Her photographs of 70′s women in surreal situations are now available in wearable versions.
