For many of us two decades have passed since we were taking style tips from TLC, but for others, there was still hope that the style that gripped an entire decade would make a comeback. That day has come.
With the East 17 inspired aesthetic creeping into collections over the past few seasons, it seems that for now, the Nineties are back and are here to stay. More and more we are seeing designers from all tiers in the high fashion experimenting with this decade, fascinated by the 90s aesthetic.
Sportswear, tribal print, Spice Girl platform shoes, have all been reworked in the realm of high fashion, and with the added help of internet-inspired/net – generated designs and style being thrown into the mix (see Ella Plevin’s piece on this here), the nineties are back, but not like you’ve ever seen them before.
This shoot, styled by Berlin accessory designer Viviane Hausstein, and photographer Waldemar Salesski, is an homage to the best bits of the 90’s . Featuring labels such as Martin Niklas Wieser, Nhu Duong, Monya Wasilewski, Odlo, Issever Bahri, Bjorg Jewellery, and Weekday, the result is an inspired and fresh fashion spread that makes you want more of the guilty pleasures from your youth.
