After years in the spotlight under the stage names Portable and Bodycode, South African producer and singer Alan Abrahams is finally ready to come out of his shell. Though he hasn’t ditched either alias yet, the electronic artist has chosen to use his given name as the title for his upcoming album. Due out next month, Abrahams has released a music video for the album’s first single “Say It’s Going to Change”.
Filmed in the majestic volcanic island of Lanzarote, the musician performs his lyrics using American Sign Language (ASL) against the natural terrain. Scouting the location for its beautifully desolate landscape, Abrahams says, “One gets a kind of sense of being on another planet after some kind of war or global warming disaster. I thought that fits perfectly with the theme of the song.” While you patiently wait for the 19 August release of “Alan Abrahams” by Portable, watch the music video for “Say It’s Going to Change” below.
