Polaroid Diary: Backstage at Katie Eary AW17

2016 was a busy year for menswear designer Katie Eary, who created must-have lines for everyone from  Matchesfashion.com  to Ikea .

On Saturday morning, loyal fans of the Queen-of-digital-prints, got up extra early to attend her AW17 show, and they were not disappointed. Brit model Daisy Lowe opened the show, wearing a barely-there silk wrap dress, transporting the audience from soggy London to a ’70s boudoir. It was the model’s first return to fashion after a stint in the UK’s camp-as-Christmas TV show; Strictly Come Dancing – and it gained the designer front page press.
The collection that followed was a luxurious range of op-printed pyjama-style pieces in shades of tangerine and plum, paired with tailored trousers. The clever cut-out knitwear, featuring delicate ostrich feathers and sat in cosy contrast to the rest of the slinky separates.
As the show closed, Eary danced down the catwalk to the smooth soundtrack in a Yeezy tee (a nod to her former employer Kanye West) customised with sequinned nipple tassels –  in true irreverent Brit style, and kicking off the day with an upbeat start.

Eary also wins the award for our favourite invite of the week, check it out here.

SLEEK got up-close-and-personal backstage before the show, with some new faces captured using a Polaroid SX70 on Impossible Project .
