Backstage at NAMILIA SS18 NYFW Show

SLEEK goes backstage at Namilia SS18 show to give you a sneak peek of the brand's bold collection

Nan Li and Emilia Pfohl, creative minds behind the Berlin-based brand Namilia, are known for their rebellious take on womenswear – questioning the very definition of femininity, the duo offer unconventionally sexy clothes that radically challenge the traditional idea of femininity. Namilia’s SS18 collection, presented at New York Fashion Week, boldly thematises the empowering aspect of female sexuality –the clothes, an off-kilter mixture of street-style elements and evening-wear, come decorated with vagina prints, while the cuts are sophisticated and the risqué designs funny – quite in line with the brand’s proclaimed intention to “celebrate sensuality and eroticism in all forms”.

Namilia’s show, abundant with extravagant looks and attended by a plethora of fashion’s “cool kids” (Brooke Candy walked the runway, among other highlights) might be yet another signal of New York Fashion Week’s transformation into a fun, party-saturated event – something foreshadowed by the VFiles initiative.
