Last night, in Mitte’s Torstrasse, Opening Ceremony and Adidas Originals celebrated their ongoing collaboration of pretty fresh looking urban gear in a suitably laid-back atmosphere. The collection itself was bold: a hyper mix of colors, prints and materials. There were bad-taste knitted sweaters and cardigans that wouldn’t have looked out of place in a Prenzlauerberg vintage shop, pastel pink and yellow transparent raincoats adorned with shiny buttons and red-and-black leopard print bustiers and shorts. Debatable were the platforms: some loved the laced-up, patchwork footwear with their clashing colours and prints while others preferred to turn to the high-top sneakers instead, which would have gotten the Fresh Prince of Bel Air in a frenzy.
