Pretty Much Everything: Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, photographs 1985-2010 at FOAM

Foam, Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam is currently showing a survey of the photographic oeuvre of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The two photographers began working together in 1986 in Amsterdam and 25 years later, with campaigns for fashion houses such as YSL, Chanel, Balmain, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Chloé under their belts and regular publications in renowned fashion magazines, they are considered amongst the most influential photographers in the world today.

Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin launched their international career with a ten-page shoot in the British magazine The Face in 1994. It was the first ever fashion series in which models and background were photographed separately and subsequently combined into a single image digitally.

With over 300 works on view, the show resembles a lesson in the recent history of fashion photography.

On view through September 15, 2010
