A celebration of art and design, the Lexus Design Award is devoted to shaping a better tomorrow through championing and supporting the work of emerging creators from around the world. In order to evoke change through design, the next generation of designers must consider how their ideas make use of three fundamental principles at the core of Lexus: anticipate, innovate and captivate.

The winner of the Lexus Design Award 2022 is Poh Yun Ru, a Singaporean designer who proposed Rewind, a motion-tracking tool that helps those living with dementia to recall familiar gestures and memories. “It has been such an inspiring journey,” Ru says, “and I am excited to continue designing for a better world and a better tomorrow for all.” Through this initiative, Lexus is birthing a new wave of creative thinkers who are dealing with the global challenges facing the present and future society through a careful and considered approach to design. The work of the six finalists was exhibited as “Spark of Tomorrow” during Milan Design Week 2022.
