Walking down the streets in Kreuzberg last weekend, one may have stumbled upon music and laughter, but they found that it was not coming from your average Späti; the fan favorite beverage brand, fritz-kola, has teamed up with Hamburg fashion label Habibi to create an exclusive collaboration, which was celebrated at a pop-up event. Meaning “treasure” in Arabic, the word habibi represents the pride of the streetwear label. The similar ethos of both fritz-kola and Habibi made for a natural partnership, with the goal of countering prejudice at the heart of the collaboration.

Comprising of graphic tees, sweatshirts, and printed tote bags, the collection tells a story seeking to challenge old ways of thinking. The many stigmas surrounding Arabic script are something that Habibi has been trying to overcome through fashion. Founded in 2016 by Imad El Rayess and Jessica Rees, the label makes customizable pieces that communicate their important message through German pop culture. The small team works closely on bringing their brand identity and culture to a wider audience. Building a community through clothing and the fritz-kola campaign, the tight-knit atmosphere of the “Habibi Fam” is reflected in their designs.

The “Open your mouth for tolerance” campaign has been promoting coexistence since May 2023; the opportunity for fritz-kola to partner with Habibi has also been apart of this movement. With limited edition campaign bottles, it is possible to win a festival ticket or automatically donate to one of three specially chosen organizations.
Released on June 28th, the new collaboration can be found at both Habibi and fritz-kola’s online shops.
