“I’m very much down to earth, just not this earth”—Showcasing Karl Lagerfeld’s out-of-this-world spirit both as a fashion icon and modern designer, we celebrated the designer’s heritage and vision by placing his custom one-of-one BMW Individual L7 limo under the spotlight: the vehicle was first driven by Karl Lagerfeld in September 1990, exactly 20 years ago.
Lagerfeld’s L7 limo features a unique paint job with a rising gradient from a deep chestnut brown tone to a gold-orange tint. This paint job gives the metallic exterior an appearance akin to aged leather. The car has a length of 5.4 metres, which is 25 centimetres longer than the original BMW model, while the interior features a sophisticated, warm lining of chocolate leather with an orange hue. Given Lagerfeld’s infamous penchant for quiet opulence, it’s no surprise that he’d travel in such style.
