Organized by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana in collaboration with the Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI), the awards ceremony took place in the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, with the interior being an excellent example of sustainable design. The carpet was created by Sit-in out of recycled nylon, made from waste produced by Aquafil. With sustainability as it’s core mission, the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana plans to reuse a part of the carpet again during next year’s Milan Fashion Week, while the other part will be sold by Aquafil’s benefit corporation.

During the evening, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Prada und Valentino presented existing pieces in a runway show to underline the principles of durability, with the message that great challenges can only be mastered by working together. The projects The Oceans: Sea Beyond Award by Prada Group und The Climate Action Award: La Soledad x Gucci were also one of the 14 recipients of the prize that night, who all received a piece of the reproduction of the sculpture Venere degli Stracci, an iconic artwork of the 20th century, made with 3D printing and customized by hand by Maestro Pistoletto.
