Wednesday night, September 10th, marked the highly anticipated opening of SLEEK Art Space with Jorinde Voigt’s captivating exhibition PULSE. Against Berlin’s glittering skyline, an intimate gathering of art world figures, collectors, and cultural enthusiasts came together for an unforgettable evening of crafted cocktails, artisanal flying sushi, and carefully curated DJ sets by SUNSHINE LIVE.

Artist Jorinde Voigt was present throughout the evening, engaging with guests and offering personal insights into her work as the crowd moved seamlessly between viewing her striking pieces and taking in Berlin’s iconic cityscape. The atmosphere buzzed with artistic discovery and meaningful connections, establishing the tone for what promises to be Berlin’s newest cultural destination.

Following this special evening, PULSE will open to the public as part of Berlin Art Week on Friday, September 12, from 6-9 pm at SLEEK Art Space, Alexanderstr. 7, 10178 Berlin.

The minute but substantial difference between inanimate and alive. Although, it doesn’t just set things in motion; it is the continuous element by which the organism – biological, mechanical, musical, philosophical – is nourished. Voigt’s collage works in this exhibition resemble the inner workings of such organisms: a glimpse into something otherwise concealed. Or patterns – rhythms – that seem inscribed onto the surface like traces on a membrane. Black-and-white contrasts describe a moment of change, where one pulse gives way to the next. The pulse becomes a living metaphor for immersion itself: that vital current that sustains our deepest cultural experiences.

Jorinde Voigt (born in Frankfurt am Main in 1977) lives and works in Berlin and Hamburg, where she has been teaching conceptual drawing and painting at the University of Fine Arts since 2019. She is currently completing a large-scale installation comprising painting, sculpture and design for the entrance hall of the Freshfields law firm in Tower 1 of FOUR Frankfurt am Main, while Aliée Istanbul is presenting an installation of sculptures and wall works and the Hamburg State Opera will have a new foyer with a floor painting by Jorinde Voigt from October. Jorinde Voigt’s work is currently and soon to be exhibited at SLEEK Art Space (Berlin), the National Museum in Rome (MAXXI), the Conservatorio di Musica (Venice), Skulpturenpark Schlossgut Schwante (Berlin), as well as with the Dirimart Gallery at Art Cologne and at its new location in London.
