Last week, Givenchy teased us with a first look at the House’s latest sneaker, the TK-360 – otherwise known as Creative Director Matthew M. WIlliams’ “dream shoe”. Now, Givenchy is causing a disruptive stir within the industry as they officially release the TK -360.
Williams first had idea of a “total knit” structure after he came across some knit swatches that had a 3D print on top. He began to consider how one might use yarn in a way that would make it durable enough to become the form of an entire shoe. Through the use of state-of-the-art technology, Givenchy were able to create a singular “total knit” structure that is fully integrated into the sole through a custom-moulded silhouette. Formed with no glue, the TK-360’s silhouette is radical and daring reflecting Willams’ vision for the future of Givenchy whilst also making a nod to the Director’s fascination with forms.

Innovation and continuation are at the heart of the TK-360. Driven by the experimental freedom at Givenchy, Williams was able to create his dream shoe. “There is a sense of ‘savoir faire’ for sportswear in a fashion company like Givenchy that is different from a sportswear company, but no less rigorous,” says Willams, “there is a different kind of experimentation that we can partake in. Clothes and accessories can have a life where they evolve and change and take on history. The more these shoes wear, the more history they have. They aren’t disposed of in the way a normal sneaker might be, but re-soled or re-tooled in a different sense.” For the TK-360, it’s eventual wear and tear becomes part of the shoe, part of its character and its history.
Available in classic schwarz oder weiß, along with seasonal shades of acid yellow, graphite grey, beige camel, navy und light pink. Givenchy’s TK-360 is available online at givenchy.com as well as selected online stores. The TK-360 releasing globally in-stores in July.
