When Nathan Swartz founded Timberland in 1973 in Boston, little did he know that he would revolutionize the footwear industry forever. The brand\u2019s name derives from the literal timber lands of New England, which inspired the brand’s beginnings in workwear. Taking the Timberland<\/a> Boot from the woods to the streets, the style was soon adopted by 90s Hip-Hop culture and quickly took over the fashion metropoles from New York to London to Milan. Timberland\u2019s aim with this initiative is to unite the boot\u2019s rich history with what these six artists believe the future holds. New knit technologies, exaggerated features and artwork incorporated in the boot show the unique approaches each future maker has.
