Since its founding in 1898, RIMOWA<\/a> has constantly set benchmarks of innovation and design. In this spirit, the luxury luggage designer is partnering with some of Germany\u2019s leading design universities, offering students the space to convert potential into tangible p<\/span>rojects, through its yearly design prize.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The second edition of the RIMOWA Design Prize<\/a> is set to take place from December 2023 to May 2024, with a <\/span>ceremony celebrating the finalists to be held during Berlin Design Week. The 2024 edition of <\/span>the prize will continue to address the topic of mobility, with the students <\/span>encouraged to interpret the theme freely while considering mobility\u2019s global impact and <\/span>RIMOWA\u2019s values of resilience, excellence and quality.<\/span><\/p>\n

Offering students an inclusive and nurturing environment, the competition gives the young <\/span>talents the chance to present their work to a jury of industry heavyweights who reflect <\/span>RIMOWA\u2019s unique voice and values.<\/span><\/p>\n

Like last year, the the RIMOWA Design Prize welcomes a diverse jury of experts across multiple design disciplines, offering a broad array of learning opportunities for students. Among the jurors are Alexandre Arnault<\/a>, Chairman at RIMOWA [Honorary]; Susanne Graner<\/a>, Head of Collection and Archive at Vitra Design Museum; Matthias Kulla, Director Design Management Sportscars at Porsche; Nina Sieverding<\/a> & Anton Rahlwes<\/a>, Founders and Editors at the thing Magazine, and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alongside the mentorship programme, the prize offers participants various networking <\/span>opportunities, a professional workplace to conduct their oeuvre as well as infrastructural <\/span>support to bring it all to life. The RIMOWA Design Prize will celebrate seven finalists with a <\/span>series of monetary awards as well. The winner, who will be selected by the jury, will be awarded the sum of \u20ac20,000. The runner-up will be awarded a \u20ac10,000 prize, while those in third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh place will receive a prize of \u20ac5,000.<\/span><\/p>\n
