Twenty years of Marcel Ostertag<\/a>. The German designer studied in London before moving to Munich to launch his own label. At his 20-year anniversary show, Dancing Flowers<\/em>, Marcel told us that, in the beginning, his work was much more experimental and not nearly as wearable as it is today. We met Marcel at this anniversary show, held in a Munich garden. One of the sponsors was the brand glo<\/a>, which he worked together with on this year’s Feel Your glo<\/em>\u00a0campaign. In this community-driven initiative, uninspired everyday routines are transformed into a unique interdisciplinary art project. For this co-creation, Marcel acts as the grand finale, translating a visual artwork by illustrator Danii Pollehn, originally sparked by a music track from DJ Marten H\u00f8rger, into an exclusive, wearable fashion piece.<\/p>\n

Friends, family, and many familiar faces from the creative industry came together for the evening. As 31 looks graced the runway, the atmosphere was emotional. Marcel welcomed everyone, took us on a short journey through his career, and thanked the people he works so closely with. The whole event was a demonstration of what it means to work hard for your dreams, stay true to your vision, and believe in yourself, just as Marcel did 20 years ago.<\/p>\n

In our interview, Marcel shared that he learned more through creating his own collections than during his six years of study. What a statement. Perhaps it just goes to show that some people are simply built to learn by doing.
