In a few short weeks, women of Berlin will be taking to the streets for We Own The Night, Nike’s womens-only night run. If you need some convincing to take part, this latest news might make you think again, as jewellery designer Sabrina Dehoff has designed a “finisher’s necklace” to commemorate the event. Well known for her colourful and punchy designs, Berlin-based Dehoff has collaborated with Swarovski, Tiger of Sweden and Nokia in the past.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We asked Sabrina Dehoff about her inspirations for the necklace, which will be available exclusively to women who finish the race.<\/p>\n

“It was very short notice to produce that kind of quantity – we designed it in three days! It went really well, though. I tried to capture the essence of my own brand, even though I was limited in the possibilities of what I could do. I researched a lot about Nike herself, what her attributes were and so on, looking for what could symbolise running.<\/p>\n

There was supposed to be some writing on the tag as well, and so we had to select what\u2019s important. I really like the “We Own The Night” slogan, I think it really reflects the power and this kind of positive idea of the run. I like the typeface of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I want to keep it simple, so that people can adapt to it. It shouldn\u2019t be for a particular person, with a particular taste. It should be a memory piece that you can keep! Maybe you won\u2019t wear it forever but you can keep it and remember \u2013 I was young! That\u2019s why I chose the more nostalgic form, like a medallion.\u00a0I wanted to keep it feminine, as it\u2019s a women\u2019s run.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s about being proud of your own star, and doing it for yourself.”<\/p>\n\n
