Last week, Ruinart rang in the Gallery Weekend with an appropriately celebratory preview of their exhibition at Circle Culture gallery. On Thursday 30 April, French designer Hubert Le Gall debuted his collaboration with the historic champagne company to the Gallery Weekend audience. Entitled “Le Calendrier de Verre<\/a>“, Le Gall has designed a series of twelve Murano glass sculptures. Each individual piece takes its name from a month of the year, and the form from how the month affects the champagne’s production.<\/p>\n

The series lined a wall of Circle Culture chronologically from January to December. Not to be outshone, Ruinart’s latest chardonnay champagne was passed around to attendants from bottles made of white glass\u2013instead of the traditional dark green\u2013that showcased the wine’s glowing golden tint. Appetizers of mashed potatoes served in small spoons circulated the room as visitors shone next to Le Gall’s glass calendar, sipping champagne and readying themselves for the busy Galerie-Wochenende<\/a> before them.<\/p>\n\n
