Written and directed by artist Britta Thie in cooperation with Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt<\/a>, \u201cTranslantics\u201d is a semi-autobiographical film about the transitions between data, emotions, ways of understanding, and belonging everywhere and nowhere. \u201cPeople born before 1989 aren\u2019t digital natives nor digital immigrants,\u201d she explains. \u201cWe\u2019re kind of in the middle. So this show plays with those borders and the constant transitions.\u201d<\/p>\n Shot in Germany and New York, Britta Thie used \u201creality soap\u201d techniques in the six-part film to comment on the art world and the vicissitudes of life today. \u201cTranslantics\u201d features a large cast including Thie and Sleek contributor Ella Plevin<\/a>, playing themselves and versions of themselves.<\/p>\n Watch the trailer below<\/p>\n
