Arlene Gottfried, Jamel Shabazz, Gregory Bojorquez, Joseph Rodriguez and Miron Zownir are the art photographers who became famous for their realistic portrayal of US city-dwellers. Being great examples of the documentary style, the photos they took crystallised eccentric episodes in western metropolises<\/span> in all their candour. These artists are all also being represented by Hardhitta Gallery in Cologne, which is celebrating its 5th anniversary with an exhibition with the five photographers and painter Oliver Blum. “The scenes they have captured are incredible,”\u00a0says Bene Taschen, the gallery director. “They show what these great cities were like before gentrification hit.”<\/p>\n
