This week, Marc Jacobs has been rolling out his new adverts via his Instagram<\/a>. The David Sims shot campaign honours an eclectic cast of \u00a0outsider heroes, who Jacobs’s has revealed one-by-one, with long essay-style captions on why he has chosen each protagonist.\u00a0Here\u2019s who made the list, and why the designer included them in his own words:<\/p>\n

Courtney Love<\/h3>\n

\nGrunge Goddess, Courtney Love already has a fashion campaign under her belt with Hedi Silmane’s YSL music project back in 2014 which also starred Marilyn Manson (see below). \u00a0Of this pairing, Jacobs\u00a0says\u00a0“Courtney and I (and a then two, or three-year-old Frances Bean) first met at dinner with Anna Sui in 1994 at Bar Six in NYC. I remember being quite taken by her deep, thorough knowledge of and voracious appetite for fashion and music.There has always been a genuine allure about\u00a0Courtney that I continue to admire […] She was then and remains now, for me, the ultimate divine mess in a dress”.<\/p>\n
