\""Body “Body Holes” by New Scenario<\/p>\n

 
\nThe human body can be a wonderland with all its curves and orifices, it can inspire artworks and even be art itself. But an online exhibition part of the 9th Berlin Biennale<\/a> has used the body and all its holes as an exhibition space.\u00a0 \u201cBody Holes\u201d is a project that intends to customise, or better yet, reimagine \u2014 through the seven openings of the human body \u2014 the well-known white cube in a gallery. \u201cIf the body were a museum, there would be seven galleries,\u201d says New Scenario (Paul Barsch & Tilman Hornig) \u2014 the duo behind the aptly named project.
\nIn order to make \u201cBody Holes\u201d possible, New Scenario asked numerous emerging artists including Yves Scherer, Bruno Zhu and Carson Fisk-Vittori to produce miniature art that could fit in the body part it was assigned to them. Once the art pieces were finished, over 40 different holes were used to exhibit them in a digital space that brilliantly showcases the body in all its diversity. \u201cIndeed, when using something as political as a body as your exhibiting space, representation becomes a new concern,”\u00a0said New Scenario for The Creators Project<\/a>. “It would be a pointless endeavour to replace white walls with white butts.\u201d
\nFor the young artists, the project is not a suggestion to end the use of the white cube, but instead a portrayal of what can be achieved by considering the environment as a supplement to the artwork. In \u201cBody Holes\u201d, New Scenario aims to present the audience with images that are both visually and intellectually stimulating, and by no means taboo or inappropriate.
