\nBerlin-based designer Malaika Raiss<\/a>\u00a0showed off her AW17 collection at the raw, “under-construction” Humboldt Forum. The concrete location gave a perfect contrast to the designer’s delicate aesthetic, working well in line with the feel of the collection, which was\u00a0all about contrasts. The collection showcased\u00a0a range of graceful\u00a0and feminine dresses combined with more menswear-inspired pieces, bringing on a “boyish” attitude to the otherwise girly universe of MALAIKARAISS. The models were radiating self-confidence on the runway with a strong masculine eyebrow and heavy pink blush, walking in strict diagonal lines across the rough space to a contemporary ambient beat.

\nBerlin designer Hien Le showed his latest collection at the Mitte location Kaufhaus Jandorf. Le is often inspired by the aesthetic and culture of sport, and with this collection, the designer had skateboarding in mind, referencing the\u00a0skateboarder style of layered\u00a0tops and baggy trousers. For instance, the collection showed a\u00a0blazer with a second sleeve below the actual sleeve and loose, sporty-cut woolen pants with pinstripes. Despite references to\u00a0a culture focused on youth, the collection channels a more mature and polished iteration through heavier materials and sleek tailoring.
