Thankfully, London Fashion Week favourites Marques&#8217;Almeida have made it their goal to buck this monotonous trend.<br \/>\nFor the past three seasons,\u00a0Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida have chosen to present their youthful collections on friends, colleagues and muses &#8211; including SLEEK contributing Stylist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sleek-mag.com\/de\/2016\/12\/21\/fashion-editorial-margins\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tess Yopp<\/a>. The same goes for the newly released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sleek-mag.com\/de\/2016\/10\/12\/sickest-shoes-ss17-collections-marquesalmeida\/\" target=\"_blank\">SS17<\/a> campaign imagery, where the team gathered the &#8220;MA girls&#8221; together for a laid-back group photoshoot, without any hair and makeup fuss, to capture the relaxed, friendly spirit of the label. &#8220;The shoot is more about fun and being\u00a0together&#8221; revealed the press release, and\u00a0to maintain this down-to-earth atmosphere Marta Marques took the photos herself.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48684\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sleek-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/MarquesAlmeida.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><br \/>\nNon-models, or &#8220;nodels&#8221;, have been increasingly sighted on catwalks from Balenciaga to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sleek-mag.com\/de\/2016\/09\/12\/backstage-details-hood-air-ss17\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hood by Air;<\/a> however, that usually happens mixed in with other faces\u00a0predominantly\u00a0from agencies. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sleek-mag.com\/de\/2016\/11\/25\/russias-unique-faces-lumpen\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lumpen<\/a> and Tomorrow is Another Day are some of the agents tapping into the &#8220;anti-model&#8221; look and offering more unusual faces to the industry. Mullets, bleached brows and crooked noses certainly have their place in fashion at the moment; however, the faces of Marques&#8217;Almeida appear to be chosen because the designers actually have a relationship with them. Focusing less on wildly\u00a0individual or intimidating characteristics and more about presenting\u00a0a personable group of friends feels like something fresh in a notoriously bitchy industry.
