\nThe LVMH nominees GmbH up their game this season with a full sized collection shown on the top floor of the Institut du Monde Arabe. The fast-paced presentation was just the slap in the face that fashion week goers needed during an uncomfortably hot day in Paris. Models stomped through the silver-walled space to a soundtrack of Kraftwerk mixed with a beautiful Azerbaijani poem and transported us to Berlin\u2019s underground.<\/span>
\nThe Berliners behind the brand, Serhat Isik and Benjamin Huseby were both inspired by their fathers’ sense of style for the SS18 collection. \u201cWe thought of colours, textures and materials that might remind us of them,\u201d they said. Isik\u2019s Turkish father and grandfather, who worked as miners, dressed in an aspirational way considering the hard labour they endured, while Huseby\u2019s Pakistani elder was passionate about 80s Italian fashion.
\n<\/span>
\nThe clothes are functional and sporty: reworked Helly Hansen jackets, combat trousers and jeans made for perfect upgrades to what already might be in your wardrobe. Without being revealing, the clothes are sexy in their tough simplicity.

\nWhile many designers look to reference Berlin for collections, we think it\u2019s safe to say GmbH are the first brand to have Berlin night life running through their veins.<\/span>
