\nAdmit it, you were a teen dream once upon a time, and you thought fashion week was peak cool. Tyra Banks was your idol and every week, you probs flipped through <\/span>Vogue<\/span><\/i> at the checkout counter. An ing\u00e9nue just waiting in the wings, you already knew<\/span> you\u2019d be the post make-over Andy Sachs in Paris in a world full of hospitalised Emilys. But alas, for the moment, you were a mere mortal, sitting at your laptop trawling Lookbook.nu and the latest #ootd. Attending fashion week was just an idle fantasy. You could loiter all you liked outside the fashion tents, delusionally hoping someone might pap your Salvation Army street style, but you remained an outsider. Who <\/span>were <\/span><\/i>these people, and why did anyone give a shit? What was this world of svelte silhouettes and cheekbones higher than most people\u2019s heels?!<\/span>
\n\"\"
\nFast forward 10 years and allegedly, you\u2019re no longer a desperate teen. You\u2019ve made peace with the fact that the fashion world is, in many ways, total trash \u2014 but luckily, so are you. You\u2019ve heard the insidious gossip, the cautionary tales\u2014 and yet, much as you try to fight your inner truth, chasing shapes still has that inexplicable allure. You hate to admit it, but like a true fashion #aficionado, you still wonder what happens behind those closed doors. <\/span>
\nLucky for you, I<\/span>\u00a0was (cautiously) granted backstage access at a handful of shows at Men\u2019s Paris Fashion Week.\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Zipping about from show to show and sipping Ricards no fewer than four separate evenings at La Perle put me in a mood of sublime irreverence. When you know you don\u2019t matter, you can truly be yourself! And when platitudes and pastis alone would not dull the sting of rejection, I slurped down tequila shots. Emboldened, I wore my highest heels and opened club closets and fumoirs at random: wandering in and out, eavesdropping and expertly wobbling around parties that ended too early for any real mayhem to go down.
\nIn Case You Had Better Things To Do (ICYHBTTD), here\u2019s a run down of the best (and most atrocious) shit I heard at Men\u2019s Paris Fashion Week.<\/span>

\u201cI\u2019m a digital communist\u201d<\/b><\/h2>\n

\u201cIs that a power bank or a suitcase??!\u201d<\/span> a Vetements<\/a> model says to a Palais de Tokyo art handler who\u2019s sharing his charger with the whole table at La Perle. The model boasts, \u201cI don\u2019t even have a power cord with me! I\u2019m a digital communist.\u201d Just after this a forceful argument about materialism ensues in German because someone pretended to steal his precious iPhone and <\/span>it wasn\u2019t funny guys<\/span><\/i>.<\/span>

“Wow, these clothes are really horrible.”<\/h2>\n

\u201cI mean, I get it \u2014 everyone is trying to be VETEMENTS now. But c\u2019mon, move on!\u201d said a dude wearing Iris Apfel glasses speaking rapidly into his iPhone 7 plus. <\/span>
