Juni. Doch angesichts der steigenden Temperaturen und der in nur zehn Tagen bevorstehenden k\u00f6niglichen Hochzeit \u2013 der perfekte Anlass, falls es \u00fcberhaupt eines bedurfte, f\u00fcr die Briten, sich mit Pimm\u2019s-getr\u00e4nkten Stra\u00dfenfesten und mit Wimpelketten geschm\u00fcckten Festen zu vergn\u00fcgen \u2013, k\u00f6nnte man meinen, sie habe bereits begonnen. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">F\u00fcr Stra\u00dfenfotografen bietet der Sommer in Gro\u00dfbritannien die Gelegenheit, die Briten in ihrer typischsten Form einzufangen: beim Genuss von \u201899 Flakes\u201c, beim Zur-Schau-Stellen sonnenverbrannter Gliedma\u00dfen, beim Verzehr von Fish and Chips am Meer und beim D\u00f6sen in der Nachmittagssonne \u2013 Rituale, die sich im letzten halben Jahrhundert kaum ver\u00e4ndert haben. Und niemand f\u00e4ngt unsere Eigenheiten besser ein als der gefeierte britische Dokumentarfotograf Martin Parr, der einen Gro\u00dfteil seiner 50-j\u00e4hrigen Karriere darauf verwendet hat, das moderne Leben in England in seinem wunderbar unverbl\u00fcmten, farbenpr\u00e4chtigen Stil zu dokumentieren. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"size--small\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-65209\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sleek-mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/New-Brighton-From-The-Last-Resort-1983-1985-by-Martin-Parr_Magnum-Photos.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3543\" height=\"2879\" \/> Ohne Titel (M\u00e4dchen, das Eis serviert), 1983\u201385.<br \/>\u00a9 Martin Parr \/ Magnum Photos<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nun bietet eine bevorstehende Ausstellung in der Londoner Huxley-Parlour Gallery den Besuchern die Gelegenheit, einige von Parrs fr\u00fchesten Ausfl\u00fcgen in die Stra\u00dfenfotografie noch einmal zu entdecken: Gezeigt werden \u00fcber 30 Werke, die in den ersten 15 Jahren seiner Karriere entstanden sind. Viele davon sind in Schwarz-Wei\u00df gehalten \u2013 eine weniger bekannte Facette des \u0152uvres des 65-j\u00e4hrigen Fotografen \u2013 und stammen aus seinen fr\u00fchen Serien, darunter \u201cThe Non-Conformists\u201d, \u201cBad Weather\u201d und \u201cBeauty Spots\u201d. Schon in diesen pr\u00e4genden Aufnahmen kommt Parrs unverwechselbarer Stil zum Tragen \u2013 von der ungezwungenen Offenheit, die er seinen Motiven entlockt, bis hin zu den zugrunde liegenden Themen wie Klasse, Konsumkultur und Freizeit. Man denke nur an die Urlauber, die sich um den \u00fcberf\u00fcllten Pool bei \u201cButlins by the Sea\u201d dr\u00e4ngen, oder an die Kinder, die w\u00e4hrend einer \u201cJubilee Street Party\u201d fr\u00f6hlich die Stra\u00dfe entlangmarschieren.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Die Ausstellung beleuchtet zudem Parrs \u00dcbergang zur Farbfotografie Mitte der 80er Jahre und zeigt unter anderem Werke aus seiner wegweisenden Serie \u201cThe Last Resort\u201d (1983\u20131985). Die Serie entstand in New Brighton, einem historischen Urlaubsort der Arbeiterklasse, und zeigt unter anderem eine m\u00fcrrische Angestellte einer Eisdiele, die Parrs Kamera missmutig anstarrt, w\u00e4hrend Kinder lautstark um ihre Aufmerksamkeit buhlen \u2013 eines der bekanntesten Werke der Ausstellung. Zu den weiteren H\u00f6hepunkten z\u00e4hlen eine spontane Sonnenbad-Session von Senioren auf einem Parkplatz in Ramsgate (die Parrs typischen Witz und sein Gesp\u00fcr f\u00fcr Komposition verdeutlicht) sowie ausgelassene Gesichtsbemalungsspa\u00df beim Wallasey-Karneval.
