With its schedule exceeding a calendar week by two days, Paris is the major leagues of fashion weeks. While heritage houses like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Saint Laurent and Celine stage elaborate productions, the French capital\u2019s runways are also hosting some of the most exciting young design talent. Hailing from the Ukraine, Anton Belinskiy\u2019s collections are always full of references to his childhood and friends. His AW19 show was no different; taking inspiration from a kindergarten party he attended in the \u201890s, with models sporting papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9\u00a0masks and cone hats to offset the collection\u2019s bright colours, oversized stripes, and high-shine puffers.<\/p>\n
The Paris brand was all about the legs this season. The collection featured XXL voluminous boots that go all the way up, high-cut shorts with gauzy ankle-length netting and strappy pumps and sandals in every colour. The glitch patterns in the collection were also on-point.<\/p>\n
The move away from traditional streetwear was definitely a trend across the Paris AW collections, with even Off-White dressing up their silhouettes. Afterhomework moved away from their unisex tailoring with suits, bustiers and defined waists. Still, the label has not completely shifted identities, as there were plenty of drawstrings and hoods to be found in the collection.<\/p>\n
The Berlin-based duo that masters in deconstruction \u2013 often using a blowtorch in the atelier \u2013 focused on unexpected silhouettes and lines this season. Particular standouts from the collection are the denim and zipper suit.<\/p>\n
The French designer went political for AW19, titling her collection Radiation<\/em>. Her newly-iconic bodysuits were extended to include balaclava face coverings, while neon tartan suits were paired with matching gas masks.
