href=\"https:\/\/www.sleek-mag.com\/article\/celine-aw19\/\">Celine<\/a>. He quickly removed the accent, shortened the hemlines and did a complete social media overhaul of the 74-year-old luxury house \u2013 and now it&#8217;s time for the stores. Slimane implemented his signature stark, serious and edgy style to the stores&#8217; interiors, centring the redesign on imposing mineral stones and an impressive set of commissioned and collected artworks.<\/p>\n<p>The works play off of the stone floors, mirrored details and massive slabs of marble featured in the different global locations. The Madison Avenue store led the way with works by London-based artist James Balmforth and the Mexican artist, Jose Davila.<\/p>\n<p>Balmforth\u2019s<em> Surface Response (Stack) <\/em>(2019) was commissioned especially for the New York location. The oversized steel blocks are finished with a siding of slag to create a raw mineral expression out of the industrial and geometrical shapes. A mixture of nature and artifice also inspired the Davila work purchased for the Madison Avenue Celine location. <em>Apor\u00eda IV<\/em> (2017) is a one-way mirror, flanked by sandstone and volcanic rock.<\/p>\n<p>While the New York store was the first to undergo the transformation, opening in late February, locations in Tokyo, Paris, LA, London, Milan, Shanghai and Beijing will also be made over in the Slimane image, centring on pieces by artists like Oscar Tuazon, Elaine Cameron and Rindon Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Take a look at New York store
