In a new weekly film club, SLEEK is teaming up with\u00a0Rekorder<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to screen short films. The fourth in the series is a little different, with Rekorder screening an interview with acclaimed Spanish cinematographer Edu Grau on Thursday 9 July on Rekorder.de<\/span><\/a> and on Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Grau has worked on films with Julianne Moore, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep,\u00a0Helena Bonham Carter, Ben Affleck, and Michael Fassbender as well as award-winning campaigns for Southern Comfort, Apple, Volkswagen and Schweppes with Iggy Pop, Axe, and many others. He is best known for his work on the films\u00a0A Single Man<\/i><\/span><\/a>\u00a0(2009),\u00a0Suffragette<\/i><\/span><\/a>\u00a0(2015) and\u00a0Gringo<\/i><\/span><\/a>\u00a0(2018).<\/p>\n

In a new weekly film club, SLEEK is teaming up with\u00a0Rekorder<\/a>\u00a0to screen short films. The third in the series is Cutie and the Boxer<\/em>, directed by Zachary Heinzerling.<\/p>\n

Cutie and the Boxer<\/em> portrays Ushio and Noriko Shinohara, a Japanese artist couple living in New York. Struggling financially, Noriko has set aside her art career to raise their son and to support Ushio. At the end of the movie, her husband begins to understand that he’s not the only artist in the family.<\/p>\n

The second in the series is a music video for Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, directed by\u00a0Nehemias Colindres<\/a> and danced by deaf hip-hop world champion Kassandra Wedel.<\/p>\n
