Even if you don\u2019t much enjoy future-tripping, or you\u2019re not into sci-fi movies or digital art, there\u2019s no escaping the unfathomable poetry, visual mystification and dreaminess we found with curators and artists from the K21 Collection, conceived by Kanon. In their own words, the K21 Collection<\/a> brings together renowned and emerging figures from the traditional art world and the digital and crypto art movements. Wait, what? Crypto-what? Let\u2019s back up a moment. Turns out, Kanon doesn\u2019t curate just any art but \u201cart for the next 100 years\u201d all in the form of so-called NFTs.<\/p>\n

Not sure what those are? We\u2019ve got you covered. Wikipedia defines them as a unit of data, stored on a ledger, in this case a digital one. It can be a photo, a video, whatever digital file format you can think of. It gets tracked on blockchains to provide the owner with a proof of ownership. Think of it this way: You own van Gogh\u2019s Sunflowers. You are the only person with the original. But enough about the technology. We stumbled upon K21 just a tiny while ago and were floored by the kind of liquid poetry and mindboggling a-synchronicities in the works of the artists featured here. Whether it is Raoul Marks\u2019 \u201cVoid\u201d or the lugubrious world of the \u201cTrue Detective\u201d we felt ourselves being pulled in the moment a sequence unfolded or an image evolved unexpectedly right in front of our eyes.<\/p>\n

Unlike a traditional exhibition, the collection is best understood in process, viewed against the backdrop of continuous change and that\u2019s exactly what happens as the viewer gets drawn into this parallel universe with every second that passes.<\/p>\n
