Following collaborations with Martin Eder, Jen Ray and Keren Cytter<\/a>, Sleek\u2019s newest limited-edition wearable artwork comes from Israeli artist Talia Link.
With her \u201cWitches Series\u201d, featured in the current issue of Sleek<\/a> and on the magazine\u2019s Art Cover, Link reclaims the history of the witch \u2013 feared, marginalised and prosecuted \u2013 to construct a new history and a new tradition. Just as this figure originated as a folk creation, Link creates new versions by appropriating symbols and signifiers from a range of ethnicities and cultures.<\/p>\n

The symbol of the V can stand for many things, but in Link\u2019s work it is appropriated as the symbol of the witch. Referencing the language of advertisements and empowering self-help mantras, she coined \u201cUse the V\u201d as the slogan for the new witch.
