Whilst the 80s saw elaborate shoulders and big hair, the 90s were defined by media driving subcultures like Grunge and Hip Hop. Various brands and figures shaped these subcultures, but it was Tommy Hilfiger<\/a> and Timberland<\/a> that truly defined this era. To bring back the iconic spirit of the 90s, Tommy Hilfiger has teamed up with Timberland to create the \u201cDrop 1\u201d collection, which consists of carefully selected archive pieces. Throughout the collection, the signature Timberland \u201cwheat\u201d colour guides the viewer like a thread. Combined with orange and the classic all American Tommy Hilfiger white-blue-red palette, it paints a fresh picture of the iconic era.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A new creation of a hybrid logo fuses the two brands together, introducing more versatile imagery via layering that symbolises the warmth and style one needs during the transition into the colder months. Versatility is carried into the pieces with multi-functional features like the Zip-up Carpenter Pants, Two-in-One Varsity Jacket and the Voluminous Recycled Parka. Finally, the classic Timberland 6-inch boot is juxtaposed with a remix of the classic Tommy Hilfiger aesthetic with zip detailing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Both brands are created by culture and have shaped thousands of artists over the years, like musician Adesse<\/a> and model Samira Prudentos<\/a> to name a few. The collection embodies everything you need for a modern urban lifestyle to timeless staples. SLEEK: Tommy Hilfiger is an iconic brand, with which many of us grew up with. Looking back at your life, are there any moments connotated to the brand?<\/p>\n

Adesse: Tommy Hilfiger had a huge influence on my youth. I remember how we\u2018d all wear oversized jeans or Pullovers in the classroom. It had a real hype in my generation at that time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Samira: When I was young, my older sister had a Tommy Jeans jacket, which I always wanted to wear. This Tommy x Timberland capsule draws clear references to urban street style. How do you see yourself reflected in this?<\/p>\n

A: Both brands were a big part of my upbringing. Timberland is deeply rooted in hip-hop culture especially in the US, which shaped my taste a lot.<\/span><\/p>\n

S: I identify a lot with the urban lifestyle the brands communicate. Ever since I started working in the fashion industry, my curiosity about style and self-expression has continued to grow. Collaborations in creative fields are the way to the future. How do you see society moving forward?<\/p>\n

A: We definitely made some steps in the right direction, regarding topics like racism, LGBTQIA +, feminism and classism. Our generation highlighted a lot of issues, but at the same time, as soon as you leave your progressive bubble, it becomes clear how much work is left to be done. There are a lot of threats like the climate crisis. Nevertheless, I am an optimist and I believe strongly that our generation will find a way to move forward.<\/span><\/p>\n

S: I love how open and tolerant society is progressing to be. You can wear whatever you like, wherever you like. I see society moving forward into a more tolerant, progressive and open
