In creating the collection, the brands put a special focus and emphasis on the environment, wanting to reduce the ecological footprint by rethinking the production process and making an effort in sourcing materials that last significantly longer. After rediscovering the outdoors within the past year, this collection is made to get us through every weather, from the warm Californian sun to icy Berlin. The standout styles include a cropped puffer, ripstop parka and Ithaca striped shirt dress. Versatility is important when it comes to fashion, especially when one is a dancer, like our unique talent Majid Kessab<\/a>. Exclusively for SLEEK he and his counterpart model Maxie Elizabeth<\/a> sat down with us, discussing all things TOMMY x Timberland<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tommy Hilfiger is an iconic brand, with which many of us grew up with. Looking back at your life, are there any moments connotated to the brand (e.g. wearing Tommy at your first day of school)?<\/p>\n

Majid: I grew up as the child of Kurdish refugees, together with three brothers and sisters. Financially, it was not possible to wear brands like Tommy Hilfiger, but I was very into rap, so I knew that many 90s rap artists wore the brand. This was the first time I recognized the brand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maxie: My dad had this Tommy Hilfiger T-Shirt he always brought to the beach with him. I am sure he wore it to other places too, but whenever I came out of the water as a kid, he\u2019d put me in this shirt to warm me up. This Tommy x Timberland capsule draws clear references to urban street style. How do you see yourself reflected in this?<\/p>\n

Majid: My dance style is based on traditional Kurdish folklore and straight-up Hip Hop dance moves from the streets. It\u2019s a mix of two things, just like the collaboration of Tommy Hilfiger and Timberland. Being open-minded and being true to oneself is key in the arts and this is definitely reflected in this collaboration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Maxie: I think street style is incredibly liberating, it\u2019s a celebration of who you are or the version of yourself that you\u2019d like to portray through your style. I feel most comfortable in oversized clothing, so this capsule collection of Tommy x Timberland was right up my alley.
