The 2000s is an era that continues to define style, fashion and trends. From the Balenciaga Crocs to the revival of Juicy Couture, the 2000s definitely isn\u2019t going anywhere. And the trend goes beyond clothing. Beats by Dre<\/a> have brought us a 2000s gaming campaign, Choose Your Player<\/a>, to launch three new colourways of their fastest-selling product to date, the Beats Studio Buds<\/a>. This model is packed with new features, such as \u201cLocate My Beats,\u201d accessing battery life info and the ability to control listening modes directly from your device. Through the lens of a 2000s video game, Beats bring fashion and music together to inspire the possibilities of self-expression and individuality. We were inspired by their latest campaign, which took us right back to being in an arcade in the 2000s, and so we have explored how each of our favourite video game characters would style the Beats Studio Buds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (1996)<\/span><\/h2>\n

Since the game\u2019s launch in 1996, Lara has become a pop culture icon. In 1998, she scored a huge sponsorship deal with Lucozade, in 2002 she then released a single called \u201cGetting Naked\u201d<\/a> (as if her hypersexualised body wasn\u2019t already enough for the male gaze), and of course, Lara was played by Angelina Jolie in the 2001 film adaption Lara Croft: Tomb Raider<\/em>, making Lara Croft even more prolific. And, let\u2019s not forget the countless \u201csexy\u201d Lara Croft Halloween costumes that we see every October.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When she\u2019s not venturing into the depths of ancient tombs, Lara Croft would be sporting the Moon Gray<\/a> Beats Studio Buds. As one of the most intelligent and athletic video game characters, it\u2019s only fitting that Lara Croft would be the most fashionable too – Lara knows exactly what she wants, and she definitely wouldn\u2019t compromise on her style. Solid Snake: Metal Gear Solid (1990)<\/span><\/h2>\n

Known as the \u201cMan Who Makes the Impossible Possible,\u201d Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid is trained in espionage missions, tasked with destroying nuclear weapons. As the hero of the 90s videogame, Snake has to not only act the part but he of course has to look the part too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Designed by Japanese video game designer Makoto Kano in 1986, Samus is an intergalactic bounty hunter and the protagonist of the game Metroid. Perhaps her most iconic outfit, when she isn\u2019t in Metroid form, is the blue Zero Suit; the perfect match for the Ocean Blue<\/a> Beats Studio Buds.
