Last week, <\/span>Givenchy<\/span><\/a> teased us with a <\/span>first look<\/span><\/a> at the House’s latest sneaker, the TK-360 – otherwise known as Creative Director<\/span> Matthew M. WIlliams<\/span><\/a>\u2019 \u201cdream shoe\u201d. <\/span>Now, Givenchy is causing a disruptive stir within the industry as they officially release the TK -360. <\/span><\/p>\n

Williams first had idea of a \u201ctotal knit\u201d structure after he came across some knit swatches that had a 3D print on top. He began to consider how one might use yarn in a way that would make it durable enough to become the form of an entire shoe. Through the use of state-of-the-art technology, Givenchy were able to create a singular \u201ctotal knit\u201d structure that is fully integrated into the sole through a custom-moulded silhouette. Formed with no glue, the TK-360\u2019s silhouette is radical and daring reflecting Willams\u2019 vision for the future of Givenchy whilst also making a nod to the Director\u2019s fascination with forms.<\/p>\n

Innovation and continuation are at the heart of the TK-360. Driven by the experimental freedom at Givenchy, Williams was able to create his dream shoe. \u201c<\/span>There is a sense of \u2018savoir faire\u2019 for sportswear in a fashion company like Givenchy that is different from a sportswear company, but no less rigorous,\u201d says Willams, \u201cthere is a different kind of experimentation that we can partake in. Clothes and accessories can have a life where they evolve and change and take on history. The more these shoes wear, the more history they have.
