A Celebration of Friendship: Versace by Fendi, Fendi by Versace

Fendace Campaign Shot by Steven Meisel

Friendship and togetherness are at the heart of the very glamorous Fendi and Versace collection, a truly unique moment in fashion. Rather than a collaboration, the Fendance collection evidences an exchange of roles and brand codes between the two houses. Designers Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi brought their perspective to Versace, while Donatella Versace reimagined Fendi’s vision through her lens. Through the collection, Versace’s concept of more-is-more dressing co-exists with Fendi’s considered approach to accessorising and craftsmanship.

Shot by iconic photographer Steven Meisel, the campaign encapsulates a sense of fun and flair while Alec Maxell offers us a peek into the glamour-filled world of Fendance through two celebratory campaign videos. Each sees an impressive cast of supermodels – Adut Akech, Amar Akway, Anja Rubik, Anok Yai, Imaan Hamman, and Lina Zhang – entering the Fendace nightclub to let loose in their fabulously Fenace outfits, as long as they can get past the fearsomely beautiful bouncers on the door: Naomi Campbell and Kristen McMenamy. Print, colour and logoism are all fully embraced within this collaboration, while iconic styles such as the silhouettes of the Fendi Bag and the Versace visual codes are combined to create the new Fendance Peekaboo and Baguette silhouette – a clear statement of the collection’s intent to create unique designs with respect for each fashion house at its core.

Launching May 12 through a series of pop-ups and events, the collection is available to shop at selected Fendi and Versace stores, as well as at Fendi.com and Versace.com.
