For their third collaboration with Berlin label GmbH, Asics are fusing boosted comfort with an aesthetically left-field touch. A twist on the classic Gel-Quantum model, the Asics x GmbH Gel Quantum 360 made their first appearance at the GmbH FW20 show, only to be officially released in late October. The association of a sneaker titan with the unconventionally utilitarian Berlin fashion brand is bound to breed a hybrid of robust functionality and experimental design, as seen in the asymmetrical colour combos the sneakers come in: white/blue and black, purple/blue and black, and off-white/gum. The iconic translucent Asics sole is still there to “ground” you, but the chunky format is sleeked out — experimental practicality seem to be footwear mantra du jour.
