When you are asked to show your passport in Berlin, it usually means you’re at the airport. However, this time our destination wasn’t a terminal, but a journey into the heart of Italy. To celebrate the Berlinale, Sleek and YOOX invited twenty creative talents to an unforgettable evening at the Italian Embassy in Berlin.
The moment we crossed the threshold, the atmosphere shifted. The usual “Hello” was replaced by a warm “Ciao,” and the traditional architecture set a high bar for the evening’s dress code. Everywhere you looked, the room overflowed with exquisite gowns, sharp tailoring and high-fashion flair.
We caught up with photographer Kristian Schuller, who shared that his boundless creative inspiration is drawn from “almost everywhere.” Artist Charlie Stein arrived in a stunning ensemble sourced from YOOX, featuring a David Koma skirt and a Yohji Yamamoto jacket, reflecting on how fashion serves as a vital tool for self-expression. Meanwhile, models and content creators Toni and Maureen embodied the perfect blend of “chic and cool,” dressed in full designer looks curated by YOOX.
The interactive “Character Card” experience added a modern tech twist. Guests scanned QR codes to discover their persona for the night before entering the YOOX Camerino, a specially conceived fitting-room. There, stylists helped attendees finalize their looks with premium accessories and statement pieces, such as Burberry jackets or Balenciaga Glasses.
To ensure the memories lasted, a photo booth allowed guests to capture and print their favorite moments. This was a standout Berlinale event where the atmosphere, the elevated style and the shared memories will certainly resonate long after the lights have dimmed.
