Acne Studios AW16 collection at Paris Fashion Week
When creating the designs for Acne Studio’s AW16 collection, creative director Jonny Johansson admits to spinning a few of The Cramps’ greatest hits a few times. “I love how they were so expressive, forceful and provocative,” Johansson says. “I wanted to celebrate Poison Ivy and Lux Interior, and to match their attitude with the archetypes of Acne Studios.” This garage punk influence can be seen in the collection through studded utilitarian motorbike jackets and multi-coloured leopard prints. Johansson then pares down these elements by incorporating clean welded seams and boiled tweed in an effort to maintain the brand’s signature look.
