Actress Tua El-Fawwal talks putting down roots in the latest episode of Anderssein podcast supported by SEAT

In the latest episode of  “ANDERSSEIN” podcast supported by SEAT,  actress Tua El-Fawwal speaks with host Minh-Khai Phan-Thi about how she made her own home.

Is there a difference between homeland and home for you?

Egypt is definitely my homeland. I find it harder to answer whether it is also my home. Berlin is my home, not Germany as a whole Country. My soul is in Egypt. Somehow I don’t want to make a decision about this.

What does acceptance mean for you?

I associate my conscious decision to wear the headscarf with acceptance. There were very different reasons for it. However, it´s a decision that accompanies you constantly in everyday life and that you don´t cancel. This inner firmness also guides me when I approach acceptance outside.

And being different?

People see you differently if you are wearing a headscarf, and often they judge you. I just wish that at some point this could stop. I don’t see myself as “different”, that is something that comes only from others.
