To the delight of fashion fans worldwide, style icon Alexa Chung has announced plans to launch her own clothing label. Entitled “Alexachung”, the ready-to-wear collection will be available at a selection of luxury retailers from May 2017. During an exclusive conversation with Business of Fashion, Chung expressed her excitement to begin work. “I see this being the culmination of a lot of hard work for a decade,” she said. “I feel like I need to get it up and running whilst I’m still young enough to have the energy.”
This is not Chung’s first venture in fashion design; the style-savvy Brit has previously collaborated on collections with Madewell and AG Jeans. Both projects were met with widespread success, each one selling out upon its debut. This comes as no surprise, considering the praise she regularly receives for her on-trend wardrobe choices. With previous work in modelling and fashion writing, Chung has built a career that spans every area of the industry. Only recently has she felt truly ready to embark on this project, stating: “If it had been any time sooner than this, I either wouldn’t be responsible enough or have been able to take on this kind of feat.” Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
