Today during Milan Fashion Week, the city’s most fabulous gathered at Armani/Silos, the iconic Italian brand’s exhibition space, for the private opening of a new exhibition entitled “Emotions of the Athletic Body”. Curated by Georgio Armani himself, the designer cites his participation in sport as a major factor in his accomplishments to date.
The show consists of  images sourced from Armani advertising campaigns in addition to the books “Athlete” and “Facce da Sport”, displayed on large concrete-finished slabs, with the intention of reflecting the design of the space with the subject matter. Accompanying the still images are a number of previously unseen video installations and a life-sized model of an athlete. Work by photographers Aldo Fallai, Richard Phibbs and Kurt Markus is exhibited amongst an impressive chain of others, portraying sportsmen and women wearing Armani.
With “Emotions of the Athletic Body”, Giorgio Armani is once more showing his support for the Special Olympics, the international sports organisation for people with intellectual disabilities.
