This marks the debut of Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari’s first major exhibition in Berlin, offering a portal into their chaotic, joyful, and extraordinary imagination.

This exhibition is a rebellion against the polished, the predictable, and the comfortable, showcasing a narrative where absurdity reigns supreme. With ToiletFotoPaperGrafiska, Cattelan and Ferrari present their explosive, anarchic world to a new audience, each image serving as a vivid manifesto against conformity.

Founded in 2010, TOILETPAPER Magazine was born from Cattelan and Ferrari’s shared disdain for the conservative art world. Their collaboration fuses art and photography into a series of striking images that blend cheerful, ad-inspired aesthetics with biting social commentary. Vibrant and provocative, their work defies classification, offering an ironic reflection on consumerism, power, and the contradictions of contemporary life.

To celebrate this debut venture into curated chaos, Fotografiska Berlin is hosting an exclusive opening night on May 9, 2025, from 7 PM to 3 AM. The evening features an artist talk with Pierpaolo Ferrari, the high-energy dance performance The Battle of Sirens, and a live concert by Milan’s queer icon M¥SS KETA. Curated by Toy Tonics, the DJ lineup will set the mood with house, Italo-disco, and electronic beats, blending seamlessly into the world of TOILETPAPER.
