Pharaohs and queens obtained their emblematic green Udju from malachite and oils and the dark Kohl–similar to our eyeliner–from galena. Ancient Romans used carbon to refine their eyebrows and the eyelids were colorate with pigments extracted from different plants. Today the processes may have got more complex, but behind the creation of make-up products, there still is the binomial with nature that photographer Johannes Bauer celebrated with this beauty-story with art direction of Forget Me Not.
