WILLIAM FAN
William Fan was the talk of the town this Berlin Fashion Week, after scoring a spot in this year’s Fellowship Program hosted by the German Fashion Council and H&M, and his Asian-inspired collection did not disappoint. The intricate set design referencing kitschy Chinese interiors made the perfect backdrop for crisp tailoring irreverently finished with floral embellishment. The dream-like runway showcased a rare authenticity that set it apart from other Berlin collections; Fan‘s remarkable talent deserves to be highly commended. Let’s hope he doesn’t fly the nest too soon.

SADAK
The Serbian-born designer who has worked on the costumes for The Hunger Games had a clear message at his show this season, and it was “Pride in Individuality”. He showcased this by in the casting; many of the non-models, including his friends. SADAK‘s avid interest in fabric and texture was evident through the array of material on show in the collection.

MALAIKARAISS
MALAIKARAISS got the prize for most interesting location by choosing the raw, “under-construction” Humboldt Forum. The concrete location gave a perfect contrast to the designer’s delicate aesthetic. The collection included a range of graceful and feminine dresses combined with more menswear-inspired pieces, bringing a boyish twist to the otherwise girly universe of MALAIKARAISS.
