Brunello Cucinelli is exploring themes of hope and courage in their latest video series #BeYourChange, which documents a range of individuals who are striving for change both personally and socially. Boxer, activist and model Ramla Ali is the brand’s latest muse and she discusses how change can be an opportunity for growth.

Born in Somali, where she had to flee the civil war, and raised in the UK, Ramla is the first Somali woman to become a professional Olympic boxer and win the English national title. For Ramla, boxing helped her to develop as an individual while learning how to fight prejudice and overcome fears. In response to her feelings towards boxing, Ramla founded the Ramla Ali Sisters Club in 2018, a weekly and free boxing class for women in London, a safe, non-discriminatory place in which other women can too experience the liberation boxing can offer.

For Ramla, “believing in yourself is about accepting what and where the weaknesses are, why you have insecurities and where they come from. This can give you the tools to believe in yourself and help you learn from failure and, in turn, grow into the change you want to be.” With her story and the extraordinary achievements that she has achieved so far at such a young age, Ramla perfectly embodies the essence of Brunello Cucinelli’s #BeYourChange video series. In their latest episode with Ramla, Brunello Cucinelli want to express that change begins with you.
