To stay hidden, or to stand out? Making statements is no simple matter in Berlin. There’s the weather to think about, and then there’s the city’s informal stance on fashion: power-looks have never really been part of the sartorial architecture.
But sometimes fashion itself makes the decision for you, with garments so desirable, distinct and confidence instilling that standing out isn’t a choice but an inevitability. That’s how it is with the eponymous, Antwerp based label of Sarajevo- born and Germany-raised sisters Vera and Olivera Capara, whose padded, avant-garde jackets and inflated coats demand a response on the streets as much as they do on the catwalks.
Capara means big shapes, and big shapes means big statement.
