The coronavirus has brought the traditional fashion cycle to a halt—Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks in February saw their runway shows emptied of spectators, upcoming Cruise shows are postponed or cancelled, and questions hang over upcoming Spring/Summer Men’s shows.. Still, Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta isn’t giving up showcasing creativity— they’re just enlisting more help from collaborators and bringing it to the public virtually with the Bottega Residency.

The Milanese brand is creating a digital platform that brings content from musicians, chefs and artists to the public each week to create what they call a “theatre of joyous distraction.” Bottega’s creative director Daniel Lee stresses in a statement, “In this highly distressing time, we feel a responsibility to create those values and ignite a sense of joy and hope in our community and beyond.”

The first resident of the platform will be the creative director himself, Daniel Lee. Today, he will be sharing clips from his favourite director.

The Bottega Residency is accessible on YouTube, Youtube, Weibo, WeChat, Line, Kakao, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud as well on www.bottegaveneta.com.
