“Opening doors to work with a cutting-edge facility to create footwear that we always dreamed of making” – Eckhaus Latta
Camper has launched its latest CAMPER TOGETHER collaboration, a team effort with New York and LA-based design duo Eckhaus Latta that explores the relationship between footwear and knitwear. First presented at Eckhaus Latta’s AW16 show, the limited edition footwear collection is a thought-provoking knitted design that merges an athletic sock with a block heel. Unique yet still feminine, the designers worked together with Berlin-born film director Alexa Karolinski to capture the footwear collection in their short film “Islands” in Camper’s home country of Mallorca starring artists Hari Nef and Martine Guiterrez.
This is not the first time CAMPER TOGETHER has collaborated with prominent figures from the world of design, fashion and art – having worked together with Gosha Rubchinskiy to deliver a sporty avant-garde collection in 2014. This model of collaboration allows designers to explore and push their creativity and experiment in order to development new pieces that blend their own distinguished brand identity with that of Camper’s quintessential design details. “The opportunity to develop a shoe with Camper has been an incredible experience – opening doors to work with a cutting-edge facility to create footwear that we always dreamed of making.” says Eckhaus Latta. The collection will be available online and in selected Camper stores from 10 November.
